Gracie - 2010

post written Sept. 2010

Gracie has started Kindergarten, lost two teeth, made the competition dance team, learned to read, and turned 6 this year. I cannot believe I have a six year old. Amazing! I know I always say the same things about her, but it's because they are all true. I am so proud of her and she is a huge help around the house. She is Garrett's other mommy and I catch her disciplining him almost every day. It makes me laugh because I was the same way when I was young.

She lost her two bottom middle teeth and the tooth fairy gave her $5 for each one... I didn't know teeth were worth that much.

Gracie decided to have her 6th birthday party at a place called Young Chefs Academy. She invited ten friends and they made their own pizza and decorated their own cupcakes. They learned about kitchen etiquette and that is when I almost died. Before they started the party the lady that was in charge was pulling her gum out of her mouth and playing with it and then she picked her nose. I wanted to leave... Christa and I looked at each other like, did she really just do that! Apparently, it was all part of the skit to teach the kids what not to do in the kitchen but I thought it was real and was freaking out.

Gracie had a great birthday party and is loving Kindergarten. She is off track as of yesterday and she has a lot going on... she is hunting with Jake and then off to Disneyland with Grandma and Grandpa Glines and she is planning sleep overs with her friends. It is going to be an exciting three weeks.

Quick Update

I have been a crazy lady lately but I wanted to quickly jot down a few of the things that we have been up to...

Weekends....

We went to Lake Powell, Island Park and Yellowstone, Flaming Gorge, Park City, Lagoon, and several other Day trips to the lake. Texas in November and Gracie will go to Disneyland in Oct. with Grandparents!

Running....

I ran the Wasatch Back in June and a half marathon in July. Now, I have fizzled out on running and I struggled with a 5K last weekend... Why do I stop?

Work....

I am still working full time at MonaVie and I now work the weekends for Carlco Builders at an awesome community called Baywood Village in Draper. I am also volunteering a lot of my time to Afflicted War Heroes and other fundraisers... this is so much fun and I have loved the time I am spending to help our Injured Soldiers. We have a trip planned for Veterans Day to travel to Texas and deliver the care packages that all our fundraising money will purchase. I cannot wait. This is my way of contributing to the freedoms that we all enjoy as Americans!

Kids...

Gracie started Kindergarten and made the competition dance team at her studio. She lost two teeth and learned to ride a two wheel bike back in early summer in under 5 minutes. Garrett got a bike with training wheels and he has mastered it. He cruises. He wants to go to school but I am loving having him at home with me. They are both growing up so fast and learning new things everyday! They also teach me new things everyday.

Family...
My amazing grandma Dorene passed away in May after a series of strokes. I miss her terribly. Jake's Grandpa just passed away on Aug. 13th and he may have been the funniest person I have ever met. I still laugh everytime I think of him... He will be deeply missed. I am sad that my children will not remember these two amazing people who had such an influence on our lives.

I am considering going back to school... scared to death, but considering it.

We put our front yard in this summer and we have been enjoying the outdoors. Now that fall is here for good, I am looking forward to camping while Jake hunts and the endless Sundays watching football and playing Fantasy! Ahhhhh!

I am loving my life, my family, and my amazing friends even though its crazy and I forget everything!
