UPDATES.... Finally!

Wow.. its been a long time since I have been a part of the blogging world. Many updates, not much time.. here goes.

Garrett turns two on Saturday OMG... where does the time go? Really? I love that he is growing up and he has the cutest wild teasing personality and he is talking like CRAZY but wow... I didn't think time would go this fast! Here are a few things I want to remember about my kids and my world that have happened in the last couple months.

Garrett saved his own life a few weeks ago when he attempted to ride his bike down the stairs... somehow, someway, he grabbed onto the railing and his bike went flying down. I heard the ruccus and started freaking out and shaking immediately. I thought for sure he would be broken when I found him at the bottom of those long stairs... but instead, he miraculously grabbed onto the handrail and walked away with onlyl a scared little tender heart. God Bless our little guardian angels!

Gracie has a loose tooth.. her first one and she is soooo excited about it. it is the bottom left.

Garrett pooped in the potty yesterday and I couldn't be happier... I can't wait for the day with no more diapers.

I ran my longest distance ever yesterday of 7.22 miles and I did it in 1 hour and 13 minutes (on the treadmill - UGH!) I am training to run the Wasatch Back Relay again this year with the best group of ladies out there.... except Kim.. but I think we can talk her into it...if not this year, there is always next year!

Gracie started playing Baseball in the Riverton League and she is loving it. Garrett wants to be big so bad so he can play with the bat and the hat... he doesn't care much for the ball!

Gracie is doing so well in preschool. She is already reading and counting to well over one hundred. She is starting to understand simple math. I am proud of her. She is a huge help to me when I am working at home. She takes care of Gary and helps me with everything.

Garrett wants an Elmo, a tractor, and/or a football cake and he talks about his birthday every day.

Oh yeah, and how could I possibly forget to mention the most fabulous Dirty thirty cruise that we went on in January with the best people! I can honestly say that I have never had more fun ever. But I did gain 7 pounds and have not been able to lose it... all I have to say about that is ahhhh, but those pounds were totally worth it. Here's to looking forward to the "over the hill 40 cruise" as JR puts it!

I love my house and my adorable little family!

Jake and Sjon and Kory and Jeff built me a beautiful deck this past weekend and I could not be happier. I LOVE SPRING!

Utah Marathon Relay

So I sort of participated in the Utah Marathon Relay this year with some great girls... Go Team SILS - Sister in laws (in case you were wondering)

My amazing teammates were Tiffany and Erin Padilla and Rena and Karli Thomas... and they smoked it and ran their little bums off!

Thanks Gals for being strong... sorry for the let down on my part!

Note to self: DO NOT go out to a bar and party til after midnight when you have a race that starts in the wee hours of the morning! Oh, one more thing, PLEASE don't eat a breakfast burrito the size of a brick from McDonald's and a diet coke before you run... this behavior never pays off!

From the Garden....

This morning I went out to my Parents garden to see what was growing and this is what I found.

WOW! I picked carrots, butternut squash, zuchini, yellow squash, grapes, green and purple beans, tomatoes, and green peppers.

This is one of the many reasons I appreciate living with the parents. I am learning how to garden and I cannot wait to plant my own garden. I love eating the freshness that grows all summer. Earlier this season we also had peas and there are melons and pumpkins that are not quite ripe yet. My mother grows her own herbs like basil, thyme, and cilantro as well. The kids love to go out and see the new growth and help pick and water the garden. Too bad they don't appreciate the good food too. Give it time right?

Television

Don't you LOVE it when you come upon an old Seinfeld episode that you haven't seen before?

I do.... and I am proud to report that it happened twice in one week!

Oh, the simple things in life!

We made it to 8!

Jake and I had our 8th anniversary on Tuesday! We tried to go golfing but, it was a tornado out there. We went to Dinner at Happy Sumo and to see Star Trek the movie instead. Good Show! Good Food! Great Husband!

I really can't believe it has been 8 years already! Even though it has been this long.... I still feel like we are just starting out in ways. Possibly because we haven't found "our place" yet. Hopefully soon!

I feel so happy that I have such a great family. I love my husband and my kids more than anything... As always, I am one lucky girl!

Happy Anniversary Jake... I hope we Live long and Prosper together!

Why can't everyday be Mother's Day?

I had the most amazing, relaxing, and wonderful Mothers day ever! Thank you honey and kids!

I woke up and Jake brought me coffee. I worked out. Then, all the wonderful Mother's on my side of the Family came over.. and Jake and My dad made us eggs benedict and fresh fruit for breakfast. And... they cleaned up afterward. Jake took my car to the carwash. I was able to take a nap. Gracie made me the cutest card at preschool with her hand prints in the shape of a heart. Then, we went to a BBQ at the Thomas' (which was amazing).

Pretty much the perfect day!

Thank you! XOXOXO

Happy New Year!

2009 is here... Hooray!

We celebrated the new year at home with a bottle of champagne that was never opened, good food that we didn't cook (Rubio's), a competitive game of Taboo, and many great friends. Here's to 2009!

I just wanted to post a few thoughts about the past year and the upcoming year.

2008 has been a great year... and here is why...

Although the economy tanked and I have not done much real estate, My beautiful baby Garrett was born... mom & dad survived a plane crash... Jake started his own business... we moved into another new house... we are healthy and happy... we have great family and friends... and I never have to be pregnant again thanks to the tube tie!

Here is a short list of the things I resolve to do in 2009 and beyond:

- Learn to use my new Camera well

- Work out consistently and lose the rest of this baby weight

- Keep my blog updated regularly

- Serve others and Love more

I am welcoming 2009 with open arms!

Look Alikes???

On Halloween I met several new people. This girl Tonya (above) and I became friends quickly. Who wouldn't want to be friends with the weirdo in the chicken costume anyway? Plus I was squawking around the party all night. I had to play the part. Anyway, back to my story... The funny thing is, I didn't even realize that we look just like each other until the night was almost over. Actually, the obvious had to be pointed out to me. At first I didn't think we looked alike so we took several photos just to see if it were true. (Hence the serious look) And look, it is... we look the same! Weird! I may have just found my long lost sister. Mom, Dad.... is there something you need to tell me?

Feeling Fat not PHAT!

So, apparently I am FAT!

The other day as Jake was getting dressed and as he was putting on an old pair of jeans he said something to the tune of "I am too fat for these jeans"

Gracie looked at me and said "Mom, you are fatter than dad!" Jake and I looked at each other and of course laughed. How could you not laugh? Kids are so honest.

So later that day, I was changing my shirt while sitting on the couch. Stomach rolls hanging over my pants and once again Gracie said, "Mom, you are too fat for that shirt!"

Thank you Gracie for your honesty! I guess I can't use the "I just had a baby" excuse any longer. Off to the gym to get a membership I go.

Twenty NINE!!!

Yesterday was my last birthday of my twenties... UGH! I spent the whole day with my kids, husband, friends and family and I didn't even leave the house. It was so nice to just relax and enjoy the day! We made the best dinner... Tri-tip, ceasar salad, corn, au gratin potatoes, shrimp pasta (thanks Rena) and a delicious dessert of Birthday Cake (thanks mom), brownies (thanks Jenni) and ice cream! YUMMY! The perfect end to the perfect day! Thank you all for celebrating with us! (We missed you Kim)

Action Shot! Here I am blowing out my Candles. Talk about Ugly!

I actually thought that I may feel sad about twenty nine... but I feel just fine. I am super happy to be "growing up". I have finally gotten past the whole gift thing and just want to spend time with the people I love. I didn't even want anything from Jake (which is surprising to me... I usually look forward to seeing what he will surprise me with) But this year was different.

On Wednesday, we went to dinner at Bonsai just me, Jake, and the kids. Gracie loved it! Her favorite part was the onion volcano!
